Before
entering parliament in 2005, David worked as a solicitor for the Enfield
firm Shepherd Harris and Co, specialising in criminal law, and was an advocate
in police stations and Courts in Enfield, Haringey and Hertfordshire. In
1994, David was elected as the youngest councillor in the London Borough
of Enfield representing Trent Ward. During the next 8 years David held a
number of positions in the Conservative Group. He was elected as Member of
Parliament in May 2005. David is a member of the Public Administration Select
Committee and the Armed Forces Bill Select Committee. He is particularly
interested in the policy areas of the criminal justice system, drugs, family
policy and international human rights. David is married to Janet and has
five young children.
Caroline
Spelman is Shadow Secretary for Communities and Local Government
and is also a member of the CIF trustees. Caroline is a regular member of Knowle
parish church in the Birmingham diocese where she has been a Sunday school
teacher for a number of years but now her children are older prefers to work
with older youth groups and their outreach to the community. She has recently
taken up the cause of human trafficking by supporting Steve Chalke’s
stop the traffic campaign. Caroline attends a Church of England Church.

Mark is the PPC for Bristol
South, and comes from an
entrepreneurial family. His
parents built up three
successful businesses from
scratch, starting out working
from their kitchen table, and
going on to employ scores of people. He was educated at Royal Holloway, University of London and Amsterdam University. He is a specialist in climate change who visited Antarctica twice to conduct research for his PhD.
Mark is a big fan of rugby union, being a founder member of his active and growing rugby club. He is an ambassador for the charity ‘Wooden Spoon’ which supports disadvantaged children through sport.
In his spare time Mark enjoys family and friends, gym, travel and most sports. In September 2008 Mark married Alexandra at their church. Mark and Alex attend an evangelical Anglican church (Church of the Ascension, Balham Hill, London), where Alex is a Church warden.
Mark worked in the Conservative Research Department (CRD) as a health expert and senior policy adviser to the Shadow Cabinet in the run-up to the 2005 General Election.
Today he works as the UK Government Affairs Manager for sanofi-aventis, Europe’s largest pharmaceutical company.
Andrew
is the MP South West Bedfordshire and a shadow Work and Pensions Minister,
having previously been in the Whips' office and Parliamentary Private Secretary
to the Shadow Foreign Secretary. He was chairman of the Conservative Christian
Fellowship, before being asked to chair the all party Christians in Parliament
group. He has a particular interest in supporting strong families and marriages
to promote social cohesion and reduce poverty.

Robin is a councillor on Forest Heath District Council where he holds a variety of responsibilities in scrutiny, forward planning and economic development. He graduated in civil engineering and worked in Russia, the USA and Holland before turning to business and management consulting. In 2004 he started his own business focused on local government (www.millarconsulting.com) and he is currently working with the Centre for Social Justice to help councils implement their policies. A lifelong Conservative, he is a former Deputy Chairman of his Conservative Association and was Mayor of Newmarket 2003/4. He is very active in the community having founded the Newmarket Festival, has been governor of a primary school and leading FE college, and is a former Trustee of Relate (Norfolk & Suffolk). He is married to Bonny, a veterinary nurse and together they enjoy training their dog, Charlie and restoring an old cottage near his home in Snowdonia.
Guy
Hordern lives in Birmingham and is a single parent. He has been a City Councillor
and Youth Court Magistrate and is currently Chairman of the Birmingham Standing
Advisory Council for Religious Education. He is Chairman of Birmingham Conservatives
and he wants to see Birmingham (and other large Cities) flourish following
a Conservative renewal in Urban Local Government. He is an Anglican Lay Reader
and worships at his local Parish Church.
Alastair McIver is Director of Communications for Interserve, a missions charity which places people in areas of need in Asia, the Middle East and the Arab World. Previously, he was editor of Tennis World magazine for 15 years and worked in tennis products for five years. He lives in Hertfordshire with his wife, Sally, and children Jessica and Carys. He is on the leadership team of his local Baptist church. He enjoys tennis, running, reading, writing and politics.
Simi Adedeji is a Housing
Consultant and sits as a
Magistrate on the Luton and
South Bedfordshire Bench. She is
an LEA School Governor at the
William Austin School, and a
Trustee of the Luton Community
Housing Association.
Simi is married to Reverend Yemi Adedeji and they are blessed with three daughters.
A member of Jesus House, one of the largest Black Majority Churches in England, Simi is actively involved in encouraging more Black and Ethnic Minority involvement in the Conservative Party.
Margaret is a former teacher with
significant experience in teaching,
pastoral care and management in
secondary schools in Northern
Ireland. After studying theology
for two years at LST she served on
the UCCF Staff as the first woman
staff worker in Ireland 1972-77.
In 1999 she moved from Northern Ireland to London and joined the staff of CARE. After eight years with CARE Margaret moved on to become Chief Executive of Springboard for Children. She maintains her interest in education through membership of the London Diocesan Board for School and as a school governor.
Margaret is a Licensed Lay Reader in the Church of England and a member of St Michael’s Church, Chester Square. She is an experienced speaker and broadcasts regularly on Premier Christian Radio. She is an active member of the Vincent Square Ward Committee and of the Cities of London and Westminster Conservative Association Executive Council.
Lola Adedoyin is a director of
Online Drycleaners Ltd, a
company she set up with her
husband in 2008. She has a
background in law and until
December 2008, worked as the
Legal and Compliance Officer for
the charity, Jesus House.
She has also served as a volunteer for Jesus House for the past 10 years and continues to do so in her spare time. She is an LEA School Governor at Highwood Primary School, Bushey, Hertfordshire.
She worships at Jesus House and is a facilitator of the civic awareness group in the church, set up to promote and encourage participation in public life amongst Christians and ethnic minorities.
She is married to Ayo and they live in Hertfordshire with their daughter and son. Lola was raiused ans an Anglican and now attends a Pentecostal Church.
Mary is married to Phil, with
twins now aged 19. She is a
member of City Gate Church,
Salisbury, of the Pioneer
network. She became a
County Councillor 4 years ago
and appointed to the Cabinet,
where she has held the
portfolios for Children and
Families, Adult Social Care
and, currently, Culture.
She is on the Approved List
for Parliamentary Candidates and is standing for re-election as a councillor this year.
Mary is a qualified piano teacher and also plays flute and guitar. She enjoys skiing, horse riding and walking, especially in the Austrian mountains. She loves discussion and debate and is particularly fond of warm chocolate brownies…
David is the Treasurer for the CCF. He lives in east London where he is a member of the Finance & Audit Board of his local housing association, Poplar HARCA. He is also a member of his local estate board where he works closely with the Bangladeshi community.
David works as a senior producer for a major news broadcaster and has a wide-ranging interest in politics, economics and world-affairs.
He writes a blog in his spare time and worships at Holy Trinity Brompton. He enjoys offshore sailing, skiing, swimming, squash, running and photography. He is married to Vanessa, a therapeutic counsellor.
Elizabeth
was a Personal Injury Barrister in Manchester before becoming CCF
Director. She was the Parliamentary Candidate for Stockport in the 2005 General
Election. Since arriving in London she has become a Trustee of “Kainos,” a
Christian charity working in Prisons. She worships at St Michaels, Chester
Square.

Alexandra began working for the CCF in October 2008. She previously worked for Lord Taylor of Warwick in the House of Lords and at Holy Trinity Brompton as a Video Production Assistant. She graduated from the University of Essex having studied English Literature in 2007.
She worships at St Paul's Shadwell, East London.

Lorna is currently on a gap year from her studies at Brunel University.
