M.P. on the subject of “Britishness, useful or redundant.” It was a thorough and inspiring address which highlighted the role of Englishness in defining Britishness and the role that Christianity has played in forming our national identity

Birmingham Town Hall.
Doors open at 6.00pm with the City Organist Thomas Trotter giving an informal organ recital. The service will be from 6.30pm until 7.15pm. CCF Patron Alistair Burt M.P. will be joined by Abp Vincent Nichols, Bishop David Urquhart and Bishop Derek Webley. An original rap by local artist “Witness” has been commissioned for the occasion and a local children’s choir will also be performing.
CCF and Tearfund Fringe Event
Monday 29th September 2008– Birmingham Cathedral – 7.30pm until 9pm. “Iraq: the war was right, the future is bright?” Canon Andrew White, the vicar of Baghdad Canon White will be joined by Tearfund CEO Matth ew Frost. The event will be chaired by CCF Patron and Shadow Foreign Office Minister, David Lidington M.P. Donations for the St Georges’ medical centre in Iraq will be requested.
CCF Prayer Breakfasts
Monday 29th September 2008 – Birmingham Christian Centre – 7.50am for 8am until 9am. Party Chairman Caroline Spelman M.P. will give a short reflection and a time of prayer will be led by Rev. Barry Killick, minister of Birmingham Christian Centre.
